The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

The Rotary Club of Botany Randwick provides annual funding to the Foundation, with a specific allocation to its Polio Plus campaign, aimed at eliminating the scourge of Polio.  In return, Foundation grants have been received to support a range of local projects on a 50/50 basis.

The Club has also supported students studying at the University of NSW under the Global Scholarship Program for graduate students studying abroad in one of Rotary’s six causes:

  1. Promoting peace
  2. Fighting disease
  3. Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
  4. Saving mothers and children
  5. Supporting education
  6. Growing local economies
ROMAC is a program of the Rotary Districts of Australia and New Zealand.  ROMAC provides children from our South Pacific neighbours, such as Timor Leste, PNG, Solomon Island and Vanuatu, with life saving surgical treatments that they don't have available to them in their home country.

The Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick is one the hospitals that take part in the program. The photo shows then five year old Matthew from PNG proudly showing off his "zipper" after life-saving heart surgery.

Members of the Rotary Club of Botany Randwick, with Rotarians from across Sydney, provide much needed support for these children and their guardians whilst they are undergoing treatment.

Australian Rotary Health is a project of the Rotary Districts of Australia and is one of the largest independent funders of mental health research within Australia.

It also provides funding into a broad range of general health areas, provide scholarships for rural medical and nursing students, as well as Indigenous health students. Australian Rotary Health provides funding into areas of health that do not readily attract funding, and promotes findings to the community.

The Rotary Club of Botany Randwick provides annual donations to ARH and also provides an annual indigenous Health Scholarship under its auspices.

Rotary Australia World Community Service Ltd. (RAWCS) was formed to enable Australian Rotarians, Rotary Districts and Rotary Clubs to assist disadvantaged communities and individuals through humanitarian aid projects.

RAWCS has a financial infrastructure system that facilitates fundraising for projects that deliver humanitarian aid and charitable support in Australia and overseas. Projects are registered through Rotary Australia Overseas Aid Fund (RAOAF), Rotary Australia Benevolent Society (RABS) incorporating Rotary Australia Compassionate Grants (RACG), Rotary Australia Relief Fund (RARF), Donations in Kind (DIK) and Rotarians Against Malaria (RAM).

The Rotary Club of Botany Randwick has funded overseas aid projects under the umbrella of RAWCS.  Recent projects have focused on water supply to remote villages in Timor Leste.
